METHOD OF MANUFACTURING MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM AND MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium having satisfactory electromagnetic wave conversion characteristics in a high density recording region and high productivity and to provide a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the magnetic recording medium includes the steps of: forming a non-magnetic layer 10 containing a radiation curable resin on a support 2; forming a magnetic layer 11 containing a magnetic powder and a resin on the non-magnetic layer 10; pressurizing a surface working roll 5 to the magnetic layer 11 to cause the roll 5 to abut on the magnetic layer 11; and curing at least the non-magnetic layer 10 by irradiating the non-magnetic layer 10 and the magnetic layer 11 with a radiation in a state where the surface working roll 5 is caused to abut on the magnetic layer 11.
