PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input support method that enables a user to efficiently add metadata representing auxiliary information to electronic data. SOLUTION: The input support method has a distance measurement process of measuring a distance between two positions of imaging from position information about object data to which metadata is to be added and position information about data to which metadata has been added, and a periodicity likelihood decision process of deciding the likelihood that the two have a periodic relationship from date information about the metadata addition object data and date information about the metadata-added data. Whether the two data are on the same event is determined from the results of the distance measurement process and periodicity likelihood decision process, and if so, the metadata on the metadata-added data can be extracted for the user's input operation.
