PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight artificial leather excellent in texture, processability and wearability. SOLUTION: This artificial leather in which mixed fibers consisting mainly of fibers (A) having a shrinking performance, especially highly hollow shrinkable fibers, and latent crimping fibers (B) are interlaced, and in which the shrinking states and the crimps are actualized, is characterized by simultaneously satisfying the following requirements (a) and (b): (a) the fibers (A) having the shrinking performance are contained in a range of 10 to 35 wt.% based on the artificial leather; and (b) the latent crimping fibers (B) are contained in a range of 7 to 25 wt.% based on the artificial leather.
