METHOD OF CONTROLLING MULTIMEDIA BROADCAST AND MULTICAST SERVICE BEARER IN MOBILE

A method for controlling an MBMS(Multimedia Broadcast And Multicast Service) bearer in a mobile communication terminal is provided to divide the control process of activation or deactivation of an MBMS service by a user's request and the control process of MBMS bearer setting or releasing according to the notification of an MBMS service session start or end from a network separately, thereby effectively controlling the MBMS bearer for the MBMS service. A RRC(Radio Resource Control)(304) establishes an MBMS(Multimedia Broadcast And Multicast Service) bearer for an MBMS service when an MBMS service session start is notified from the outside(S318~S323). If the MBMS bearer is established, the RRC notifies a RABM(Radio Access Bearer Management)(302) of the MBMS service session start(S324). If the RABM transits from a session deactivation status to a session activation status, MBMS service data is transferred through the established MBMS bearer to the outside(S325).
