<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hint information describing method capable of reducing a processing cost (such as the processing amount and the memory usage amount) required to perform a metadata analysis and re-generation. <P>SOLUTION: A multimedia content including a moving picture and audio is divided into a plurality of scenes and metadata is created for each of the scenes. It is possible to create the metadata containing scene interval information, title, and scene structure information metadata describing hierarchical structure of the content.
