PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide information according to user's situation, when viewing or recording a TV program desired by the user.

SOLUTION: A recording apparatus 11 can receive the TV program and record the received TV program. The recording apparatus 11 can establish communication with a mobile telephone 13 by short-range wireless communication or a public network 14. The recording apparatus 11 transmits viewing guidance information indicating the received TV program is scheduled to be output to a display 12 to the mobile telephone 13 with the short-range wireless communication when the short-range wireless communication can be established with the mobile telephone 13. Meanwhile, the recording apparatus 11 transmits the recording guidance information indicating the TV program is scheduled to be recorded to the mobile telephone 13 through the public network 14 when the short-range wireless communication cannot be established.
