<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module capable of preventing a semiconductor light element from being deteriorated by the swelling of resin for applying stress to the semiconductor light element since the resin for sealing the semiconductor light element has hygroscopicity and by allowing water entering the resin to reach to the semiconductor light element. <P>SOLUTION: In the optical module 1, the semiconductor light element 13 that is a light-emitting element or a light receiving element, a peripheral circuit element composing the peripheral circuit of the semiconductor light element 13, and a lens block 10 that seals the semiconductor light element 13 and is formed by a transparent resin so that a lens 11 is formed are formed integrally.
