PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheelchair traveller that prevents a serious danger of its overturning backward when the wheelchair traveller is at rest with its brake applied. SOLUTION: The wheelchair traveller is provided with: a frame comprising a seat 21, a backrest 25 and wheels 30, and supporting these wheels and seat; an adjustment means 57 to adjust the angle of a backrest, a brake means to regulate the rotation of the wheels; and an operation means 42 to operate the brake means, and a wheelchair overturn preventive means to prevent its overturn by getting contact with the ground surface at least at a position behind the rear wheels of wheelchair traveller. The wheelchair traveller is structured that when the wheel rotation is regulated by the operation means, it links to the move of a ground contact part of the overturn prevention means to a position to get contact with or draw near to the ground surface position supporting the wheelchair, and when the wheel rotation is released from the operation means, it links to the displacement of the overturn preventive means, separating its contact part from the above position where the contact part gets contact or draws near and releasing the overturning preventive means.
