PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to use the amplifier of a transmitting circuit within a linear operation range even when transmitting waves with low sound pressure. SOLUTION: A control section 9 makes the attenuation quantity of an attenuation quantity variable attenuator 3 attenuation quantity for high sound pressure when transmitting waves with high sound pressure and shifts the attenuation quantity from the attenuation quantity for the high sound pressure to the attenuation quantity for lower sound pressure larger than the same when transmitting the waves of the lower sound pressure. The input of the amplifier 2A may be maintained within the input range where the input characteristic is linear both when transmitting waves by the high sound pressure and when transmitting waves by the low sound pressure according the present invention. Thereby the amplifier of the transmitting circuit can be used within the linear operation range to prevent the waveform of drive voltage from being deformed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
