PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily assemble a heat exchanger of added structure provided with a plurality of heat exchange units and a plurality of tube plates. SOLUTION: This heat exchanger 10 is provided with the lower side heat exchange unit 10a, the lower side tube plate 11, the upper side heat exchange units 10b, and the upper side tube plate 12. The lower side tube plate 11 fixes a heat transfer tube 13a of the lower side heat exchange unit 10a. The upper side heat exchange units 10b is a separate body separated form the lower side heat exchange unit 10a, and is adjacent to an upper end part of the lower side heat exchange unit 10a. The upper side tube plate 12 is a separate body separated form the lower side tube plate 11, and has main body parts 12a, 12b, 12c and an extension part 12d. The main body part 12a fixes a heat transfer tube 13b of the upper side heat exchange unit 10b.
