PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of data backup, and to improve the reliability of a game machine. SOLUTION: The game machine is provided with a game controller for managing the progress of a game, and the game controller monitors various kinds of abnormality and sets a flag indicating the abnormality to the RAM of the game controller when the abnormality occurs. The game controller performs power failure processing for backing up the flag indicating the abnormality set to the RAM when receiving a power failure detection signal outputted in the case of detecting a power failure, stops the operation of the CPU of the game controller when receiving a reset signal outputted in the case of detecting a power failure, and invalidates or initializes the flag indicating the abnormality, which is backed up in the RAM, before the progress of a game after power supply is started.
