SAFETY VALVE UNIT

A safety valve (9) closes a flow path of a combustible fluid from a source on detection of a fire in a delivery tube (32) from the valve to a user. The safety valve (9) comprises a valve body (10) and a valve head (26). The valve head (26) is resiliency biased towards a valve closure position. The valve body (10) has means for receiving (14) a fluid delivery tube of heat softenable material which, on fitting, holds the valve head (26), against the bias (22), in a valve open position, such that the fluid delivery tube acts as a fusible member of the valve (9).
