<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a user is annoyed when paper money having different width are not continuously received. <P>SOLUTION: This paper money discrimination device is provided with an insertion port 23 into which paper money 10 and 11 is inserted; a passage 24 connected to the insertion port 23; an entrance sensor 27 installed on the insertion port 23 side of the passage 24; a conveyance means 31 installed on the downstream side of the entrance sensor 27; a discrimination sensor 41 installed at the passage 24; a discrimination part 45 connected to the entrance sensor 27 and the discrimination sensor 41; and a passage width varying means 32 installed on the passage 24 side, to detect the paper money width while the paper money 10 and 11 inserted from the insertion port 23 is being conveyed, and the passage width is set according to the paper money 10 and 11 by using the passage width varying means 32. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
