<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weather strip capable of achieving improvement in flexibility and in assembling following performance while reducing weight, and to provide a manufacturing method therefor. <P>SOLUTION: This weather strip is mounted at the circumference of a door opening of a body of an automobile. The weather strip is provided with a trim. An insert 14 is buried in the trim. The insert 14 is molecular-oriented in a direction orthogonal to its own longitudinal direction, and configured to be easily split in a direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction by bending stress applied in the longitudinal direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
