PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensorless magnetic bearing type blood pump apparatus capable of sensorless-controlling the magnetic floating of a rotator while securing a certain distance between the rotator and a housing (on one side, a rotator rotating torque generating part side). SOLUTION: The sensorless magnetic bearing type blood pump apparatus 1 comprises a blood pump 10 and a control mechanism 6. The blood pump has an electromagnet 41 for rotating the rotator 5 in the pump in the non-contact state and a dynamic pressure bearing part 38 for the time when the operation of the electromagnet is stopped, but does not have a rotator position sensor. The control mechanism 6 comprises a pulse-duration modulation type electromagnet driving part 54; a carrier component measuring part 52 of the driving part 54; a modulation factor calculating function for calculating the modulation factor using carrier data; and a bearing system changing function for changing the system from the magnetic bearing system to the dynamic pressure bearing system when the modulation factor out of a prescribed range is calculated and for returning the system to the magnetic bearing system thereafter.
