<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device with a touch panel that has reduced cost while not reducing the transmittance for light. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device with the touch panel includes a first substrate, a second substrate disposed in an observer's side and a liquid crystal held between the first substrate and the second substrate, wherein the second substrate has a planar transparent conductive film on the surface in an opposite side from the side where the liquid crystal is disposed, and the transparent conductive film is used as a transparent electrode of the touch panel in an electrostatic capacitive coupling system. The transparent conductive film is in a form having four corners, and AC voltage for detecting a position is supplied to each of the four corners.
