PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas treatment method for removing impurities, such as hydrogen, ammonia, and inert gas, contained in raw material gas, by using a nickel-containing catalyst which reduces the risk of intense heat generation of the nickel-containing catalyst, and maintains a capacity of the nickel-containing catalyst to remove the impurities contained in the raw material gas.
SOLUTION: The nickel-containing catalyst in an oxidized state having a ratio of nickel oxide to the whole nickel of 40-90% calculated as the number of nickel atoms is reduced so that the ratio is≤20%. The raw material gas is brought into contact with the reduced nickel-containing catalyst to remove the impurities from the raw material gas.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
|
