<p>A system and method for placing an overwrap material (22) on a bobbin (12) of material is disclosed. The bobbin (12) of material may be, for instance, a bobbin of paper, such as cigarette paper. The system automatically attaches the overwrap material (22) to a leading edge of the bobbin (12), wraps the bobbin in the overwrap material, cuts the overwrap material, and secures the overwrap material to the bobbin. The overwrap material (22) is used to protect the bobbin (12) during shipping and storage. The overwrap material (22) can also be used to assist in feeding of the bobbin (12) of material into a process.</p> |
