PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joy stick device capable of improving operability as compared with the conventional art by changing the arrangement of an operating means in response to the displacing direction of an operating object. SOLUTION: This joy stick device 1 comprises a hollow control lever 2 that is rockably supported and formed so as to be gripped by an operator, a slide switch 3a that is disposed at the tip of the control lever 2 and supported movably in a predetermined direction, a potentiometer 6 for outputting the voltage proportional to the moving amount of the slide switch 3a, and an amplifying circuit 9a for amplifying the voltage output from the potentiometer 6.
