PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new reception beam formation technique or a new reception beam dynamic focus technique. SOLUTION: In performing reception dynamic focus, this apparatus controls the track shape of reception beam focus points, which corrects the distorted central line of a transmission/reception composite beam and which also achieves an improvement in image space resolution due to zigzag scanning.
