PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transesophageal echo probe for inserting a probe with ultrasonic vibrators into the esophagus while visualizing the inside of the esophagus. SOLUTION: The transesophageal echo probe has a cylindrical projecting part 11 projecting from the distal end of the probe 10 with a plurality of ultrasonic vibrators 12. The projecting part 11 has such flexibility as can bend along the esophagus. An illuminating part 13 and a camera part 14 are disposed at the distal end of the projecting part 11. Accordingly, the inside of the esophagus is brightly illuminated by the illuminating part 13 attached to the distal end of the projecting part 11 when the transesophageal echo probe is inserted into the esophagus, and the probe 10 with the plurality of ultrasonic vibrators 12 can be inserted into the esophagus while the image inside the esophagus is confirmed on a monitor by the camera part 14. As a result, false insertion of the probe into other organs than the esophagus can be prevented, and the probe 10 can be inserted into the esophagus while confirming whether there is an ulcer or tumor in the direction of insertion.
