An optical disc device has a servo control section (7) for driving an optical disc A, an optical pickup (2) for reading recorded data from the recording surface of the optical disc A by pulling in the focus of an objective lens, a CPU (8) for controlling the servo control section (7) and the optical pickup (2) to read the data recorded on the optical disc A, and a temperature detection section (9) for detecting the temperature inside the optical disc device. The CPU (8) calculates a focus pull-in level depending on the temperature detected by the temperature detecting section (9) and pulling in the focus of the optical pickup (2) by using the focus pull-in level.
