SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DIGITAL REAL SENSE TRANSMITTING/RECEIVING BASED ON NON-REALTIME

A non-real time-based digital real sense broadcast transmitting/receiving system and its method are provided to guarantee a complete lower compatibility with an existing 2D digital broadcast transmission system and avoid degradation of picture quality of 2D images. A broadcast TS(Transport Stream) generating unit(110) generates a TS with respect to a 2D image and supplementary information required for a real sense broadcast of the 2D image. A transmission unit(120) transmits the supplementary information TS, among TSs generated by the broadcast TS generating unit, before a corresponding broadcast time, and transmits 2D image TS according to a broadcast schedule. A supplementary information acquiring unit acquires the 2D image and the supplementary information from digital broadcast contents.
