DATA CARRIER AND DATA CARRIER SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data carrier establishing RF communication and contact type serial communication by using one communication protocol, and switching an authentication system for accessing a security level region corresponding to a command transmitted from external communication equipment, and properly using short-range communication and near-field communication.

SOLUTION: The data carrier is provided with: a communication protocol storage means for storing a communication protocol for communicating with external communication equipment; an RF analog reception part for receiving a query signal to be transmitted from external communication equipment with an RF signal; a terminal for contact communication for establishing contact communication with the external communication equipment; a command control means for controlling a command to be used by the communication protocol; and a connection selecting means for selectively connecting either the RF analog reception part or the terminal part for contact communication with the command control means.
