PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for welding different kind metal materials capable of preventing the generation of a rich layer of a high melting point metal in a weld metal of the high melting point metal material and a low melting point metal material supplied for cold rolling, and preventing the generation of cracks in the weld metal in a cold rolling process after welding. SOLUTION: The method for welding the different kind metal materials is used for joining a first metal material 1 comprising the high melting point metal and a second metal material 2 comprising the low melting point metal supplied for cold rolling by butt welding, wherein only a first metal material side of a butting part of the first metal material 1 and the second metal material 2 is provided with a bevel 3 having a single bevel groove 4 and a bevel angleϕof 30 to 60 degrees, and the single bevel groove 4 is subjected to arc welding.
