PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage device and a container for storing and/or transporting a nuclear fuel assembly, capable of eliminating a demerit related to constitution of the prior art. SOLUTION: This storage device 1 for storing and/or transporting the nuclear fuel assembly of the present invention has a plurality of adjacent housings 2, each of the housings 2 has side walls, and can receive the nuclear fuel assembly, the side wall includes at least one portion using structural assemblies 6a, 6b with a slot piled up and crossed, each of the structural assemblies 6a, 6b has at least one sheet of plate 22 comprising the first member containing aluminum, each of the structural assemblies 6a, 6b has further a tubular cross-sectional element 20, in the storage device 1, at least the one sheet of plate 22 is positioned in an inside of the tubular cross-sectional element 20, and the tubular cross-sectional element 20 comprises the second material selected from the group comprising steel, titanium and an alloy thereof.
