PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an adamantane derivative providing optical properties such as transparency, (long-term) light resistance, etc., long-term heat resistance, electric properties such as dielectric constant etc., and mechanical physical properties; to provide a method for producing the same; and to obtain a resin composition comprising the adamantane derivative. SOLUTION: The adamantane derivative is an adamantyl phenol derivative [formula (I)], an adamantyl group-containing glycidyl phenyl ether derivative [formula (II)] or an acrylic acid adamantyl phenoxy propyl ester derivative [formula (III)]. The method for producing the adamantane derivative represented by formula (III) comprises, for example, reacting the adamantane derivative represented by formula (II) with acrylic acid. The resin composition comprises the adamantane derivative represented by formula (II) and an epoxy resin curing agent.
