OPTICAL RECORDING INFORMATION STORAGE MEDIUM, RECORDING/REPRODUCING METHOD, AND RECORDING/REPRODUCING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording information storage medium, a recording/reproducing method and a recording/reproducing device. SOLUTION: The optical recording information storage medium includes; a user data area for recording user data; and a spare area for an alternative block for substituting a defective block generated in the user data area. An DFL entry including status information of the defective block and the alternative block is managed. When the defective block which has been in the user data area before the spare area is newly allocated for medium reinitialization remains in the user data area even after reinitialization, the status information of the defective block is changed to the status information indicating that the defective block has been reinitialized but may be still defective. Thereby, disk reinitialization can be quickly performed, and improvement of a drive system can be attained by eliminating unnecessary operation of the drive system henceforth by managing the defect state information on the block.
