PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To interpolate image data at a gap between sensor chips by a simple configuration. SOLUTION: An image processing part 112 is provided with a line sensor 200 having a plurality of sensor chips 201a and 201b arranged in one line in a main scanning direction to read an image, and an image interpolating part 114 for performing the image processing of the image data read by the line sensor 200 wherein the image interpolating part 114 is provided with color determining parts 301a and 301b for determining colors on the basis of image data (a) and (b) of the sensor chips 201a and 201b, and an interpolation processing part 302 for preparing interpolation image data (c) for interpolating a gap T between the two adjacent sensor chips 201a and 201b on the basis of color information a' and b' determined by the color determining parts 301a and 301b.
