PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electrical equipment surely turning on a power supply even in an environment where a remote-control transmitter is hardly operated, and a control method for the electrical equipment. SOLUTION: In the electrical equipment, a control section 12 determines whether or not the power supply for a main body 10 is being turned on or not by referring to a power supply section 16 (S3). When the power supply is turned on, the control section 12 outputs a channel-select signal for a channel 1 (S11), and ends (S6). When the power supply is not turned on, the control section 12 determines whether or not a current mode is an all-power-on mode by referring to a changeover section 18 (S4).
