PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bicycle that is folded easily by a user and can be stably towed and moved, and self-erected, and a method for folding the bicycle. SOLUTION: One end of an auxiliary frame 18, which supports a handle frame 1 vertically rotatably to the side of the auxiliary frame 18, is pivotally attached to a lower part of the handle frame 1 rotatably supporting a handle shaft 30. On an upper end of the handle shaft 30, a mount 6, in which a detachable fellow protrusion shaft portion 8 is provided which forms a pair with a detachable mechanism portion 11 connectively fixing the handle shaft 30 provided at a front end or a front portion of a body frame 14 such that the shaft can be steerably rotated, is fixedly provided. Another end side of the auxiliary frame 18 is pivotably attached to the body frame 14 such that rotation movement is possible in order to ground at a position at an interval where the body is stable when a front wheel 4 is towed to a rear wheel 26 side.
