PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to simply and surely remove air bubbles in a liquid to stably feed ink to an ink discharge head. SOLUTION: A liquid discharge device has a feeding pump feeding the ink (liquid) to a line head (a ink ejecting head) and a suction pump sucking the ink from the line head, the ink in the line head (a ink flow path 24) is changed or fills, by driving the feeding pump and the suction pump, ink in the line head (an ink liquid chamber 22) is extruded from a nozzle 28, the ink extruded from the nozzle 28 is sucked back into the line head by driving the suction pump.
