PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a fixing unit attachable and detachable and to constantly maintain the relative positional relationship between an induction heating unit and the fixing unit, with high accuracy. SOLUTION: The fixing device is composed of the induction heating unit 18 holding an induction heating means 36 and the fixing unit 17 holding a recording medium heating means 29. The induction heating unit 18 is movably attached to an apparatus main body 1 and the fixing unit 17 is detachably attached to the apparatus main body 1. The fixing device is provided with a first positioning means 32 for positioning and attaching the fixing unit 17 to the predetermined position of the apparatus main body 1 and a second positioning means 33 for positioning the induction heating unit 18 with respect to the fixing unit 17, when the fixing unit 17 is attached to the apparatus main body 1 and positioned with respect to the apparatus main body 1 by the first positioning means 32.
