The apparatus has a light source (10) e.g. white light LED, and a light-guiding element (20) pivotable and/or tiltable about a pivoting/tilting point (28). The light-guiding element is provided with a light-guiding axis (22), a light input surface (23) and a light output surface (26). The light-guiding element is axially displaceably arranged in such a manner that a free-radiation region is provided between the light source and light input surface. The element is made of transparent plastic or from glass e.g. high-transparent borosilicate glass such as DURAN(RTM: borosilicate glass).
