Pallet (2) for packing glass plates, comprising base part (3) disposed at a bottom part for supporting multiple glass plates (G), piled one upon another in vertical posture, from the inferior side thereof, the base part (3) having prong insertion area (6) for insertion of forklift prongs; backside part (4) rising from the posterior side of the base part (3) for supporting the glass plates (G) from the posterior thereof; and pedestal part (5) mounted in engagement with the base part (3) and/or the backside part (4) for receiving the inferior side portions of the glass plates (G), wherein the most inferior portion of the pedestal part (5) is sunk to a position inferior to the virtual superior surface of the base part (3).
