PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a footstep position indicating device for a passenger conveyor, having simple construction for indicating the position of a footstep corresponding to the position of a safety device being actuated, resulting in reduced cost. SOLUTION: The footstep position indicating device 1 for the passenger conveyor indicates the positions of the cyclically moving footsteps endlessly connected to one another. It comprises a rotary plate 4 having footstep number indicating parts 4a which indicate numbers corresponding to numbers marked on the footsteps, and adapted to be rotated in synchronization with the cyclic movement of the footsteps, and a fixed plate 5 built up on the rotary plate 4 and having a safety device position indicating part 5a which indicates a position corresponding to the position of the safety device mounted along the track of the footsteps. When the safety device is actuated and the cyclic movement of the footsteps is stopped, the position of the footstep corresponding to the position of the safety device being actuated is indicated with the cooperation of the safety device position indicating part 5a and the footstep number indicating parts 4a.
