Provided is an imaging device which can photograph two-dimensional images of a sample at a plurality of observation positions in different optical axis directions at the same time. A microscope is also provided. The imaging device is provided with an imaging lens (15) for forming the image of a sample (4) on a plurality of imaging surfaces; optical path splitting means (17, 18, 19) for splitting optical paths of light, from a region which is identical within a surface that orthogonally intersects with an optical axis of the sample (4), so as to form a plurality of imaging surfaces; and optical path length varying members (27, 28, 29) arranged in at least one optical path among optical paths between the imaging surfaces and the imaging lens (15).
