PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relay apparatus for transmitting transmission frames from a communication node and a normal/abnormal status notification frame of the communication node to another network, which can transmit each of the communication frames without increasing a processing load on the network and enabling each of the communication nodes to correctly judge whether or not the communication frame (transmission frame) is normal. SOLUTION: The transmission frame (information) from the communication node is periodically transmitted at a transmission interval set in accordance with the kind of this transmission frame, thereby preventing increase in the processing load of the relay apparatus and each network. Further, while the notification frame indicating the normal/abnormal status of each communication node is periodically transmitted at a predetermined transmission interval, when the communication node has resumed a normal status, the transmission of the notification frame indicating the normal status of the communication node is prohibited until an arbitrary time T1 larger than the transmission interval for transmitting the transmission frame from the communication node elapses after that.
