PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network system capable of securely delivering an individually prepared public key certificate and ensuring security in the communication of e-mails. SOLUTION: The network system comprises a plurality of digital multifunction machines 1 to which user terminals 2 are connected through LANs 3. The transmitting side digital multifunction machine 1a individually prepares a public key certificate 11, encodes the certificate 11 into a QR code 12 and transmits the QR code 12. The receiving side digital multifunction machine 1b receives the QR code 12b and decodes the QR code 12b into the public key certificate 11. The QR code 12 is securely transmitted through either one of a public telephone network and the Internet.
