摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of facilitating the thickness reduction of the apparatus, and achieving a wide viewing field, without interference with an observer. SOLUTION: The display device 10 includes: a light emitting element 21 two-dimensionally arranged for each pixel; and a wedge type prism 22 arranged in the optical path of light emitted by each light emitting element 21. The light emitting element 21 comprises a laser for emitting light in one forward direction, and the element 21 is arranged for each pixel so as to form a display image. The light emitted from each light emitting element 21 is made incident on the incident surface 22a of the corresponding wedge prism 22 and emitted after being refracted by the light-emitting surface 22b. Two surfaces of the incident surface 22a and the light-emitting surface 22b are planar transmission surfaces, angles (wedge angles) formed by the two surfaces are changed with the wedge type prisms 22, respectively and the light beams emitted after being refracted by respective light-emitting surfaces 22b cross one other at observer's pupil position.
