PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor which has stable electrical characteristics and achieves excellent durability over a long period of time, by forming a crosslinked surface layer having high wear resistance and good electrical characteristics, and a method for manufacturing the same.

SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the electrophotographic photoreceptor by forming a photosensitive layer on a conductive support and then forming a surface layer in a stacked state, the surface layer is formed by spray coating with spray droplets having an average particle diameter D50of≤10μm to manufacture the electrophotographic photoreceptor.
