PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decorative braid effective for developing various rendering effects on celebratory occasions, funeral occasions and various other ceremonies. SOLUTION: The decorative braid has a ring form formed by placing strings 11 having different colors parallel to each other and binding both ends. Each of the strings 11 has a weak point 12 to facilitate the cutting of the string by pulling. The string is a Mizuhiki (a two-tone paper cord) for celebratory occasions or funeral occasions formed by twisting a long strip of a Japanese paper, applying a starch and solidifying the strip by drying. The weak point is a notch or a cut applied to the string, a bonded part formed by butting both ends of a cut string or a cut assisting tool to cut the string by the pulling operation of the string.
