In a shaving apparatus ( 1 ) comprising abase part ( 2 ) and a shaving head ( 3 ) mounted on the base part ( 2 ), the shaving head ( 3 ) is pivotably mounted with respect to the base part ( 2 ), namely about a pivot axis ( 43 ) that runs parallel to a longitudinal direction of rows of cutting teeth ( 39, 40, 41, 42 ), wherein the pivot axis ( 43 ) is arranged offset towards the base part ( 2 ) with respect to the rows of cutting teeth ( 39, 40, 41, 42 ) in a depth direction ( 56 ) relative to the base part ( 2 ), and wherein a spring ( 48 ) is provided which spring ( 48 ) spring-loads the shaving head ( 3 ) counter to the depth direction ( 56 ) away from the base part ( 2 ) and towards a rest position of the shaving head ( 3 ).
