<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic container that can prevent cosmetic powder from sticking/accumulating around a push piece and that can stably secure releasability of engagement for closing a container body. <P>SOLUTION: The cosmetic container 1 is made to release a hook piece 8 from an engaging section 6 by pushing in a push piece 4 between the hook piece 8 and a push-up projection 9 and thereby raising the push piece with reactive force on the push-up projection. The push piece is formed with a receiving groove 10 for receiving scattering cosmetic powder P by depressing the upper face opposing to the hook piece and a recess 11 is formed for dropping the cosmetic powder from the receiving groove, continuously with the receiving groove. In the push-up projection a guiding groove 12 for guiding the drop of the cosmetics powder is provided in a recessed manner in an arrangement facing the recess.
