PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a manufacturing cost of a hydraulic cylinder, and to reduce weight. SOLUTION: Hollow cylindrical first and second cushion rings 62 and 64 are arranged on both end faces 18a and 18b of a piston 18 constituting the hydraulic cylinder 10 through fitting grooves 54a and 54b. The first and the second cushion rings 62 and 64 are formed by pressing a metallic material, displaced with the piston 18 along the axial direction, and housed in a recess 24 of a head cover 14 and a rod hole 34 of a rod cover 16, and thereby, a cushion function for reducing a displacement speed of the piston 18 is exerted.
