HUMAN ORPHAN G PROTEIN-COUPLED RECEPTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmembrane receptor, more particularly an endogenous human orphan G protein-coupled receptor.

SOLUTION: A G protein-coupled receptor ([GPCR]) coded with a cDNA comprising a specific base sequence, a plasmid including the cDNA comprising the specific base sequence, and a host cell containing the plasmid are provided. Human GPCRs have been identified as follows. Some of endogenous human GPCRs disclosed based on reexamination of GenBank data base information have been identified. Other disclosed endogenous human GPCRs have been identified by performing a BLAST (basic local alignment search tool) search on an EST data base (dbsest) using a specific EST (expressed sequence tag) clone as a probe. Subsequently, the human genom library has been screened by using the identified specific EST clone as a probe.
