<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer for making printing by using a font, which effectively prevents unjust use of the font and enhances the reliability of a font vender. <P>SOLUTION: The printer for making printing using the font has: a means which generates a first key from proper information of a storage device as a storage destination of the font and/or from proper information of the printer at the time of installing the font, and stores the first key relating to font data in the storage device; and a means which generates a second key in the same method as for the generation of the first key from proper information of the storage device in which font data to be used is stored and/or from proper information of the printer at the time of using the font, makes the font data read and used if the second key agrees with the first key related to the font data to be used, and prohibits the font data from being used if the second key does not agree with the first key. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
