PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To freely combine disks for flexibly constructing a disk array device. SOLUTION: The disk array device comprises a controller, which has a communication control part receiving a data input/output request, a disk controller part controlling a disk drive, and a cache memory temporarily storing data transferring between the communication control part and the disk controller part, and a component communicatively connecting a plurality of disk drives, which respectively have different communication interfaces for communicating with the disk controller part, to the single disk controller part.
