PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which creates tool drawing specifications enough to do consistent, accurate manufacturing of tools even if they are passed to a plurality of lots and dealers. SOLUTION: This method 100 broadly comprises the following steps: a step submitting to a tool data library a request which includes the basic tool parameters to generate tool specifications parameters; a step generating tool specifications parameters from the tool data library based on the submitted basic tool parameters; a step importing the generated tool specifications parameters into a parametric tool template; and a step processing the imported tool specifications parameters and parametric tool templates using a CAD software program and then creating tool specifications, wherein the tool specifications comprises a representation of a three-dimensional model of the tool and associated drawing specifications for the tool.
