PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely acquire a similarity degree between images based on the content of the images. SOLUTION: In a method relating to acquisition of the similarity degree among images, Ms of measuring points are taken near a representation point (for example, a grid form). An La-th similarity degree is acquired from among similarity degrees in the measuring points of an image "B" by viewing from one of measuring points of an image "A". Ms of similarity degrees (distances) can be acquired for each representation point of the representation image "A", then the distance "RSa" (for example, the average value) of the image "B" to the representation point to be viewed from a representation point of Ts of representation points of the image "A" whose distance is small is decided. Similarly, the distance "RSb" to the image "A" viewed from the image "B" is decided. The distance "dp" (for example, larger one) from the representative point is to be decided from the "RSa" and "RSb".
